Why you should not follow your ego

Everyone has their own ego. It’s good to know more about your own ego, but it will be a disaster if you let your own ego overcomes who you are. 

Thanks to ego, we have the ability to love. Giving love to someone else means that you have to be an identity yourself in the first place. I bet you have heard of the phrase ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’ at least once before. I want to tell you that that phrase cannot be more true. If you are not a person — by person, I mean someone with the ability to make things happen — yourself, you can’t expect yourself to make another human being to feel the love you want to give. Ego allows us to create an identity. That identity, is what makes us who we are.

However, as I’ve said, if you let ego become  ‘you’, you are going to turn yourself into a disastrous black hole that is going to suck up all the positive vibes that would ever cross you path in life. You will feel superior, and that is a bad news. You are going to feel like people should treat you better than you deserve; you will feel something if someone is better than you, even when they deserves it; and you will start to hate.

Soon, hatred will turn into grief.

You won’t just create chaos in lives of people around you; you will also create chaos, inside that space that your soul lives in.
